Executive Officers

Andrew Chen, President, Board Member

Andrew is currently a Treasury Analyst with Hewlett-Packard Co. Prior to joining the computer giant, Andrew has had experience in the Financial Service and Corporate Trust divisions of JP Morgan Chase Bank, and Citibank's Commercial Lending Operations Group.

As the President of NAAAP Houston, he is responsible for the execution of the goals, mission and vision of the organization. Prior to assuming the role of President, Andrew served as the Vice-President of Operations / Treasurer in 2006 and temporarily as Social Director in 2005-2006. He has been active with NAAAP Houston for the past 2 years.

Born and raised in the Houston area, his goal is to expand the reach and awareness of NAAAP to the local community. A graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, Andrew holds a Bachelors of Science in Management with an emphasis on Information Systems.


Joseph Lee, Vice President, Board Member

Joseph Lee is the Chief Executive at Citiscape Construction, LP. In 1999, he began his career in real estate and has handled over $30 million in various real estate construction, development, brokerage, and finance, for both commercial and residential projects. Lee coordinates between construction crews, investors, and design team to ensure a great finished product. Currently, Joseph is developing a 4-story multi-residential patio homes project behind Memorial Park. Clients and his staff would appreciate Lee's professionalism to produce results.

Lee holds a degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a Texas real estate license, and a construction management certificate from the City of Houston. On his spare time, Joseph enjoys playing tennis, snow boarding, and watching off Broadway shows.


Jennifer Kuo, Secretary, Board Member

Jennifer works in marketing for Applied Optoelectronics, an electronics company specializing in advanced optical laser applications and equipment in wireless, point-to-point communications, and cable television industry. Jennifer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing and Psychology. As the Secretary, she records all the minutes of NAAAP Houston's meetings.


Alice Zhang, Treasurer, Board Member

Alice is currently working for Ernst & Young LLP in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice. Alice graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Masters degree in Professional Accounting and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Prior to joining NAAAP, Alice was Senior Vice President of the UT Chinese Students & Scholars Association. As treasurer of NAAAP, Alice manages the organization's funds and maintains the organization's financial information.


Committee Chairs

Kellie Pai, General Counsel, Board Member

Kellie Pai is currently an Attorney at Liu & Associates, PLLC. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center. Since being licensed in the state of Texas, she has practiced almost exclusively in immigration and nationality law, representing both corporate and individual clients. Besides NAAAP, her other affiliations include the State Bar of Texas and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.


Albert Chao, IT Director / National Representative, Board Member

Albert is currently a Web Developer at the University of Houston. He has a B. A. in Political Science and a B. S. in Information Systems from the University of Houston. His area of work includes web development, networking, Windows server maintenance and migration.

Previously Albert was an IT consultant with Vonix Communications, taught technology courses as a Teaching Fellow at the University of Houston's College of Technology. He has also worked for Van Kampen, a division of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, AOA Geophysics as an IT manager, and overseas for Manabe Corporation.


Joyce Wang, Social Director, Board Member

Joyce is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in Consumer Science & Merchandising at the University of Houston while also working full-time at Crowne Mark, a furniture distribution company. A natural social butterfly, she is perfectly suited for the role of Social Chair / Event Coordinator, organizing and promoting social functions that serve the best interests of NAAAP Houston and the community. Joyce is also a host with Roguescene Houston, booking and promoting parties and events on weekends.


Jennifer Ma, Membership, Board Member

Jennifer has come around full circle and is currently an elementary educator in her home district of Fort Bend. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received an MEd from the University of Houston. Jennifer has taught Mandarin Chinese at the Honor Roll School as well as the Institute of Chinese Culture. She has also combined her love of art and her passion for photography into a successful side job, taking portraits of families, babies, and individuals and doing wedding photography around the Houston area.


David Chan, Event Coordinator

David is a general dentist currently working in private practice at Southwest Dentists. He is dedicated in providing his patients with comfortable, state of the art dental care including cosmetic dentistry. David obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto. He has also completed an advanced dental training program at the University of Pennsylvania. David is licensed in administering oral conscious sedation for anxiety management. As event coordinator, David's role is to help organize and facilitate NAAAP functions.


Norman Chu, Professional Development

Norman is currently a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial. He began his financial advising career in 2001 while interning for a financial planning team in Austin Texas for American Express Financial Advisors. In 2004, he was promoted quickly to a leadership position within the firm leading a small team of advisors.

After completing his Bachelors of Arts degree, with a focus on finance, at the University of Texas in Austin, he decided to return back to his hometown of Houston Texas and to begin pursuing his full time passion becoming a private wealth advisor, for Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. Norman currently holds a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation, a Registered Investment Advisor License, and a Texas State Insurance License.

As the Professional Development Director my aim is to bring high level speakers in front of the organization and to promote growth and development of our members.


Kirk Chen, Membership / Assistant Legal Counsel

Kirk Chen is a Professional Tax Services / Attorney and is currently an Engineering Director with Paradigm Partners, LP. Prior to joining the professional tax services firm, he worked as an immigration attorney. Kirk holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center and is currently barred in Texas. He began his undergraduate career studying chemical engineering, and holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Kirk has also worked in both the semi-conductor and chemical refining industries.

Kirk serves as Co-Director of Membership and Assistant Legal Counsel for NAAAP Houston.


Senior Advisory Board

Patrick Chu, Senior Advisor

Patrick is currently employed at Koch Supply & Trading, a private commodities trading firm, developing its systematic trading strategies for the gasoline desk. He recently graduated from the full time MBA Program at the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Energy Finance. Prior to graduate school, Patrick held various positions at Reliant Energy, Centerpoint Energy and a private energy focused consulting firm. He received his BBA also from the University of Texas, majoring in MIS with a minor in Marketing. Outside of work, Patrick had previously been involved with the Houston community by serving as Co-President of NAAAP Houston and Mentor/Volunteer in the Youth Leadership Council. During his spare time, he enjoys reading nonfiction books, traveling the world, and participating in outdoor activities.


Jean Liang, Senior Advisor

Jean Liang is currently an independent software consultant. Prior to becoming a consultant, she worked for Shell Oil Company and Hyperion (currently owened by Oracle). She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and BA in Psychology. She served as NAAAP Houston's Treasurer and VP of Operations, as well as NAAAP National Treasurer.
