President
The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation and shall, subject to the control of the Board of Directors, supervise and control the affairs of the corporation and the activities of the officers. The President:
Vice President
In the absence of the President, or in the disability of the president, the Vice-President shall perform all the duties of the President. The Vice President shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the President and Board. Duties shall include:
Treasurer
This is a one year term. The Treasurer helps the President maintain proper accounting statements and file taxes.

Social Director/Social Chair
As the social arm of NAAAP Houston, the Events Chair strives to provide our members and potential members friendly and social events that encourage networking and mingling of new and old friends. The Social chairperson coordinates events that encourage networking and membership development. He or she strengthens relations with other professional organizations around the community. The individual is responsible for coordinating monthly mixers, philanthropic & charitable events. He or she is also responsible for keeping members engaged and broaden their network of professional and social contacts.
Technology Director/Webmaster
The web-master shall update NAAAP Houston´s web site (www.naaaphouston.org) as appropriate with events and mixers. He or she will create new templates for www.naaaphouston.org use. The individual must possess knowledge of basic HTML, the ability to learn new applications quickly, be able to effectively train & provide ongoing support to other members, and will troubleshoot and fix defects on www.naaaphouston.org.
Scholarship
Born out of grassroots fundraising efforts by NAAAP Houston members, our scholarship fund began as generous donations from members who shared a commitment to building a strong foundation for developing future leaders. To this end, the scholarship application process is thoroughly examined each academic year. The committee chair and its members are dedicated to finding and awarding highly motivated graduating high school students in search of higher education. The chair leads the committee in maintaining a vast network of local area high schools and counselors. It is focused on identifying and screening students of Asian American descent for excellence in leadership, community service, and academics.
Membership
The Membership Committee chair manages the lifecycle of NAAAP Houston members. Responsibilities include recruiting and welcoming new members as well as retaining those members. The committee chair strives to meet what members look for and serves as a voice of members.
Marketing/Graphic Design
The Marketing and Public Relations Committee aims to provide "one voice, one face" to help NAAAP Houston project a professional image in our interactions with members, sponsors, partners, and the media.
Professional Development
The committee chair coordinates networking events, seminars, educational workshops, speaking engagements, and gathers resources to help NAAAP members further their professional development.
Community Service
The Community Service Chair strives to achieve a goal of NAAAP Houston to give back to the community. The individual leads the Community Service Committee´s mission of fostering Asian-American volunteerism and participation in local community development and activity. Two visions:
Member-at-Large (MAL)
The At Large position represents the interests of the general membership and conducts projects and accepts duties as assigned by the President and the Board of Directors. The individual will participate as a member of the Board of Directors attending monthly Board of Director (BOD) meetings and special meetings as scheduled, both onsite or via teleconferencing. They will represent the general membership on issues of interest or concern, particularly those that arise outside of the standing committee structure. The MAL will conduct projects to further the goals of the organization or to develop services for the membership. In addition, the MAL will serves as chair of any ad hoc committee formed to develop these projects. |
