The NAAAP-Houston Board of Directors has open positions for the 2010-2011 year!
Are you a NAAAP-Houston member and want to become more involved in a leadership capacity? Do you want to build and exercise your skills for a leading Asian professionals organization? Are you passionate about professional development, community service and cultural awareness?
If your answer is ˜Yes!" to any of the above questions, then consider becoming a NAAAP-Houston Board Member. As a Local Board Member, you will work closely with the Officers and other board members to set NAAAP-Houston policies and direction, identify strategic areas for growth, develop and execute cutting-edge programming and steer the organization in carrying out the goals embodied in its mission statement.
With our growing membership and ever-expanding programming scope, we've created new opportunities for our members to get involved with the NAAAP-Houston leadership team.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about NAAAP-Houston's mission of promoting workplace diversity and professional development among Asian-American professionals. Candidates must be solid team players, self-starter, and dedicated in contributing to NAAAP-Houston. Past leadership experience is highly preferred. We are seeking individuals with broad experiences in (but not limited to):
1. Membership-building
2. Marketing (online and offline)
3. Programming
4. Public Relations
5. Corporate and event fundraising
6. Organizational Development
These volunteer positions are open to NAAAP-Houston members in good standing. At least 3-6 months of prior involvement in a NAAAP chapter is preferred. Board members are required to attend all monthly board meetings, must attend at least 50% of NAAAP-Houston events each month, and are strongly encouraged to participate in the annual National Board Leadership Retreat and annual NAAAP National Convention.
